Topless America returns to Washington
Current mood: determined
In April 2008, the Topless America film crew will return to Washington, DC for
the 3rd Annual Mountain Top Removal conference, sponsored by Appalachian
Voices. This will be our second year participating in the world’s largest
mountain top removal summit.
The goal of the conference is to meet with members of Congress and other various
representatives and discuss the Clean Water Protection Act in attempts to
protect the health of the environment and people of mountain top mining
communities in Appalachia.
Topless America has already set a meeting with Congressman Danny Davis of IL.
Davis is already a co-sponsor of the bill. We will ask the Congressman to
encourage other representatives to take a stance against mountain top removal
and help by co-sponsoring the Clean Water Protection Act.
**Our journey has been made possible by the generous support of the awesome
people at Appalachian Voices!
